Scott Snyder is senior fellow for Korea studies and director of the program on U.S.-Korea policy at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). For a decade, Scott worked at several other organizations specializing in Asia and Korea. He was a visiting fellow at Stanford University’s Asia-Pacific Research Center and serves as co-chair of the advisory council of the National Committee on North Korea. Scott has authored myriad books on aspects of Korean politics and foreign policy.
His new book is South Korea at the Crossroads: Strategic Choices Amidst Rising Regional Rivalries (2018). He received a BA from Rice University and an MA from Harvard University.
